Thanks for sharing. My dad was stationed there at this time. He worked at the NavFac. LCDR John M. Heiges. I was very young and remember the NavFac, school buses literally pulling up to the front door so we didn't get swept away, bald eagles everywhere, and Capt Thummel's dog getting loose.
